Several people have asked me the same few questions via email, so I thought it might be useful to everyone if I also answered them here before prompt claiming began. :)
What's "art" for fest purposes?
Art is anything that you want it to be as long as it's an original answer to your assigned prompt and can be photographed/saved for submission as a GIF, JPEG, or PNG file in the neighborhood of 800 by 600 pixels. Cosplay scenes and craft projects are welcome!
I wrote an SS/HG fic that didn't get many reviews. Will you include it in the fest?
No. All work for the sshg_promptfest must be original and inspired by one's assigned prompt.
Under what circumstances might you accept two Prompt Fest works during the same fest from the same creator?
If I receive fewer than 30 works by deadline, I'll call for pinch-hitters to make up the shortfall.
Why do you only accept text files for written work?
Text/plain text (.txt) files don't carry viruses.
How do I save a .doc file as .txt?
How do I turn off smart quotes?
If I submit my fic at the last minute and there's a problem with it, you'll let me fix it after deadline, right?
No. If you'd like your work to be included in the fest, you must produce, have beta'd, and submit it as directed by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on 31 May.
This next concern isn't a question, but I wanted to address it, anyway: I'm asking in an email because you scare me a little, TBH.
If you can't shake the idea that I'm scary and the fest's rules, schedule, and submission guidelines don't answer your questions, consider asking the good people at sshg_hub for assistance and support. That said, I'm really just a warm and fuzzy person who likes to be concise for the sake of clarity; I'm not scary. Got that? I am not scary. :P
Please don't hesitate to ask me any fest-related questions that you may have in reply to this post, or by emailing them to sshg.promptfest [at] gmail [dot] com.
